Common questions
Do I need an account to share text?
No. Guests can share up to 5,000 characters. Sign in to a free account for up to 100,000 characters, plus editing, history, titles, custom endings, and access controls.
Who can see a text page?
Guest text pages are Link only. New signed-in accounts default to Public in Discover; you can change this in Settings or for each new item. Anyone with an unprotected URL can open it. Choose Password protected when a password should be required.
Can readers change my text?
No. The reading controls only change the local display size. Signed-in owners can edit the saved text from their dashboard.
What kinds of text can I share?
Share notes, checklists, code snippets, instructions, reading lists, drafts, and other plain text. The editor shows your character count: up to 5,000 as a guest, or 100,000 when signed in.
