I have a confession: I am not a morning person, and I always assumed the problem was just not getting enough sleep. Then I found this little calculator and it reframed the whole thing. You tell it what time you need to wake up, and it works backwards through 90-minute sleep cycles to hand you a few ideal bedtimes — because being ripped awake mid-cycle is what makes you feel like you've been hit by a truck, while surfacing between cycles feels almost... fine? It even gives you the 'okay, I stayed up too late, give me the emergency option' times. I tried one of its suggested bedtimes last night and woke up noticeably less grumpy, which is genuinely unusual for me. What's your alarm set for tomorrow?
