The 3-second photo that ends the "where did I park?" panic
We've all done the mall-walk-of-shame: wandering a parking garage, clicking the key fob like a confused bat, hoping to hear a honk. There's a fix, and it takes three seconds — snap a photo of your parking spot every time you leave your car.
Not a photo of the car. A photo of the spot: the level sign, the pillar number, the store entrance you walked in through. Your brain will cheerfully forget a pillar number within minutes; your camera roll will not.
On trips it's even better. Hotel room number, rental car plate, the subway exit you came out of — three quick photos and you never get that sinking "wait, which one was ours?" feeling again. When you don't need them, delete them later; they cost you nothing.
A couple of details make it stick. Do it the moment you step out, before you start thinking about anything else — if you tell yourself "I'll remember this one," you won't. And take the photo facing the direction you'll be walking back from, so the image matches what you'll actually see when you return.
It's the smallest habit on earth: park, step out, snap. Three seconds now saves you fifteen minutes of wandering later. Your future self, the one carrying groceries in the rain, will thank you.
